Optimal Recloser Placement in Distribution System Considering Maneuver Points, Practical Limitations, and Recloser Malfunction

Improving reliability is one of the most critical problems in power distribution networks. Optimal placement automatic switches improves system reliability. Practical constraints such as maneuver points and capacity neighboring feeders are often overlooked. Reliability indices may also be improved by optimizing point locations considering capacities feeders. In this paper, a new perspective on problem recloser presence switch disconnectors (sectionneurs) with ability to disconnect under load proposed. The limitations transmission at considered proposed method. addition, proposing Markov model, possibility malfunction reclosers considered. method applied two case studies including Roy Billinton Test System (RBTS) real network Mazandaran, Iran. Real data collected during years 2016–2021. solved for various scenarios. 12 fully reliable reclosers, taking into account optimal without any limitations, compared allocation endpoints show %4.37 increase system. Even practical points, improvement %3.47. Also, results %6.684 decrease reclosers. This underscores importance malfunctions better decision making practice.
